Emergencies
Dr Mo Private Clinic is not a walk in clinic or emergency service. If you need urgent medical care, please contact your local NHS healthcare services as appropriate including your local Walk In Centre, 111, 999 or attend the Accident & Emergency department at your local hospital.
Safe Prescribing
We do not commence schedule 1, 2 or 3 drugs. Schedule 4 drugs, if prescribed at the discretion of the doctor, can only be prescribed for the short term and usually as a one off. We do not prescribe certain specialist drugs or desiccated thyroid hormone. Please contact us before booking to see if we can prescribe your medication.
Repeat Prescriptions
Secure online repeat-prescription submission is not currently available. Please see the repeat prescription page for eligibility and current next steps. The current fee is shown on that page. If approved, a maximum of one month of medication can be issued. The repeat prescription service is for existing patients only, and only for medications already prescribed by Dr Mo. If you require more than one month supply of a repeat medication or if you wish to request a new medication or if Dr Mo wishes to review you before authorising a further repeat prescription, then a clinic appointment with Dr Mo would be required.
Appointments
Longer appointments & extra clinic time:
Appointments are charged according to the duration booked and are reserved specifically for that patient. If you feel that you may require a longer appointment, please let us know at the time of booking so that we can help accommodate this. If additional time is required on the day but no further clinic time is available, you may be asked to wait or to book a further appointment at a convenient time.
Appointment time includes both time spent directly with Dr Mo and any associated clinical or administrative work arising from the consultation, including reviewing information, preparing referral letters, arranging investigations, issuing documentation and completing clinical records. Appointments are charged in 30-minute blocks, including any part thereof. For example, where more than 30 minutes is required, such as a 35-minute appointment, this is charged as two appointment fees. If the full duration of a booked appointment is not ultimately required, unused appointment time is unfortunately non-refundable, cannot be credited towards another service and cannot be carried forward to a future appointment.
Payment
Some services such as home visits and where items e.g. vaccines have been specially ordered, require payment to be processed at the time of booking. For all other services, payment is required by the end of the appointment. Payment can be made by card or cash.
Running Late
If you are running late for your appointment, please do let us know as early as possible, and we will do everything we can to accommodate you. However, to avoid impacting other patient's appointments, especially if you are over 5 minutes late, you may be asked to re-book for another time.
Follow up
Some services include a period of free aftercare if needed, e.g. toenail surgery or skin lesion removal. For all other services such as clinic consultations, if post-appointment advice, medical assistance or follow up discussion with Dr Mo is requested, for an existing or a new condition, a further clinic appointment would be required. For a new medication request, a further clinic appointment would be required. Alternatively, you can contact your NHS GP Surgery, 111 or 999 / A&E in an emergency.
Clinical Queries by email
Please note that, unfortunately, we are not able to answer any clinical questions by e-mail or text message. These would need to be discussed with Dr Mo in an appointment.
Cancellations and Refunds
An appointment can be cancelled if there is over 24 hours notice. To cancel, click the button 'change/view my appointment' on your booking confirmation email. Cancellations with over 24 hours notice are automatically refunded, less a third party £15 cancellation fee per service/item booked. Unfortunately appointment changes are not able to be made within 24 hours of an appointment and cancellations within 24 hours of an appointment (or non attendance) are non-refundable. Cancellation where items e.g. vaccines have been ordered are also not refundable.
Complaints
We will go above and beyond to ensure you are satisfied and get the highest quality private healthcare, but if we fall short of our high standards, please let us know. A complaint will be thoroughly investigated and be managed in line with the recommended guidance. We aim to respond within 28 days. If the investigation is likely to exceed this timescale, we will contact you and update you. In some cases, particularly where a complaint is complex or requires external advice, the investigation may take longer. Where this is the case, we will keep you informed of progress and agree a revised timescale with you. In line with national guidance, complaints may take up to six months to conclude. In the first instance, please direct your complaint to Dr Mo, lead clinician, at hello@drmoprivateclinic.co.uk.
Regulation
We take patient safety seriously. We comply with the principles and values on which good practice is founded as laid down by the General Medical Council. Doctors are all subject to regular appraisal and revalidation by the Royal College of General Practitioners and the General Medical Council.
Protecting our staff
We reserve the right to refuse service. If we consider that a breakdown in the patient-practice relationship has occurred, for example due to abusive or deceptive behaviour, this will result in a refusal of service and there is no appeal process.
Privacy Policy
We process personal information under applicable UK data protection law. This may include your name, address, email, telephone number and health records. We use this information to deliver effective medical care, support public health and for learning and training, such as safety audits. Records are held securely on our computer system and, where applicable, in secure manual filing systems. We share information with other health professionals when needed to deliver safe medical care, for example when making a referral, communicating with your insurer or discussing your prescription with a pharmacy. Your contact details are used to deliver and manage your care. We may also share information where required by UK law, for example for safeguarding children. Our current policy states that records are held while you are a patient and for 5 years after you stop being a patient. You have a right to access the information we hold about you. A copy of your consultation can be provided to you or sent to another party after your consultation. You may ask us about information sharing or opt out where the law allows. We regularly review our privacy policy.
CCTV Privacy Notice
We have installed CCTV systems at our premises, for the purposes of public, staff and vehicle safety and crime prevention and detection. Images captured by CCTV are not kept for longer than necessary. We operate CCTV and disclose in accordance with the codes of practice issued by the Information Commissioner and the Home Office.
